Our USPs (unique selling points)

13 August 2009

key-staff-2009

We asked our staff what they thought were the USP (unique selling points) of Prestige and their responses are below:

  • “We Care” and “We listen” to our customers requirements.
  • We have one of the largest linguist databases in the UK (over 5000).
  • Our product range is also the most diverse.
  • As we are a family run company – there is more involvement in the business so technically the founders are still close to the business unlike many other companies our size. This has an effect on the quality of service received by clients.
  • Delivery.
  • Providing exactly what customer wants – i.e. fulfilling the exact requirement.
  • Family Business, small enough to care, big enough to deliver!
  • Our personal service.
  • Quantity with Quality.
  • Our ‘can do’ attitude.
  • We are able to provide rare languages.
  • We have the flexibility and we listen to the clients. We have no set price list, unlike our competitors. We are not a rigid company in terms of our thinking and capability as we have the resources and expertise to deliver according to the client’s needs.
  • The determination to succeed.
  • The best quality and everything is possible for Prestige…
  • We care.

Presenting A Great Case For The Defence … And The Prosecution

9 June 2009

By Shawn Khorassani, Business Development Director of language services provider Prestige Network

Language services for the legal profession is a growing market, with the UK’s increasingly litigious society impacting on the provision of translation and interpreting. Here, we take a broad look at language services in action

Supporting the legal sector with language services takes many forms – from working with litigation attorneys and solicitors at court hearings, patent hearings, and fraud cases, to helping out in personal injury claims and matrimonial arbitration to legal document translating services and court transcripts.

Meryem Skinner, Operations Manager at Berkshire-based Prestige Network (with specific responsibility for the legal division), said: “We have always seen the provision of our services to the legal profession as a very important part of what we do. Different skills are employed in the translation of a legal document to those used in supporting an international arbitration case and we ensure that translators and interpreters are hand picked to suit specific tasks.

Prestige Network sponsores a Challenge Football Match at St Gabriel’s School

16 October 2008

Football Match of the Year!

Prestige Network sponsored a Challenge Football Match at St Gabriel’s School in Newbury on Friday 3rd October. The game, between teachers and parents, was for two 30 minute sessions. Decked in Prestige Network football kit, the team of parents pitched their David Beckham-like skills against the St Gabriel’s School Teachers. This contest of the year was watched by an excited crowd of parents, school children and other members of St Gabriel’s School. Competition was fierce, with neither side wanting to concede to defeat. However, the outcome was inevitable with the final score ending at 2-1 in favour of the parents.

A Winning Goal!

A triumphant and exhilarated Shawn Khorassani commented:
“It is great to get involved with the local school in a sporting
activity that I really love!”

New Development regarding the Internet

13 October 2008

Although the financial crisis is hitting many language businesses, Prestige is growing and expanding in many exciting ways and is going from strength to strength. Recently Anthony Fleming has taken charge of all Internet activities and the company now has its own dedicated Internet Division.

Anthony commented that “The Internet is like a huge ocean and so many pearls lie hidden from the untrained eye. With the help of my Internet Team we intend to substantially grow this side of the business very quickly. With a number of web sites to maintain and develop (see a partial list below) I have more than a full time job. This is a new challenge and one that I am very excited about. If I can be of service to you please contact me on 01635 866 888 (ext 274).”

Financial Mail on Sunday Translation

8 May 2008

A Polish Translation Case Study – November 2007

Aim: To enable the Financial Mail on Sunday to engage with its Polish readers by translating a special supplement on ‘Poles in Britain’ into Polish and providing a Polish translation of an online forum

Project Outline: An innovative translation service project which involved translating into Polish – within a matter of days – 6,000 words of a Financial Mail on Sunday report highlighting the financial aspect of the sizeable Polish population currently in the UK.

The Polish translation of the supplement was made available on the Financial Mail on Sunday’s website at www.thisismoney.co.uk/a-thisismoney-special and also appeared subsequently in print in the Polish Express.

Publication of the supplement was followed by an online forum on the subject on the Financial Mail on Sunday website, which was also translated into Polish for the website by Prestige Network.

The project means that the Financial Mail on Sunday has become what is believed to be the first national newspaper in the UK to provide a supplement in Polish.

Polish Newspaper and Web Site Translation

Prestige Remarks that “This kind of innovation is a great way of engaging people from other cultures, helping them not to feel disenfranchised. We felt hugely privileged to be approached to enable the Financial Mail on Sunday to be the first national newspaper to produce a supplement in Polish. It was very satisfying to be involved in such an initiative.”

And the customer says “This was a very exciting project. Prestige Network worked well with us and got behind the spirit of the initiative, which was to do something innovative to engage a growing part of the population. We’ve had a lot of very positive feedback on the project and we are already planning to do another one.”
