Providing Language Services across the North of England

26 July 2010

Prestige have successfully tendered to be on the Commercial Support Unit North East framework agreement. They were already on the framework agreement for the North West so this makes them the only language company to have succeeded in getting onto framework agreements for all of the core language services, for the public sector in both the North West and North East of England.

The Commercial Support Unit North East is a new organisation (Spring 2010) developed to address the ambitions and objectives of the local health economy in becoming more commercially effective.

London Councils ‘Could Be Compromising The Needs of Ethnic Minorities’

Mr Dudley said: “Being able to communicate with staff is crucial for everyone using council services: it enables people to say what they want, to understand what is going on around them and feel connected to others. Translation and interpreting services give people access to support.

“The increased demand for language services by public sector organisations and commercial companies alike is symptomatic of the need to meet the country’s continually expanding and diversifying language base.”

The full article about London Council’s need for translation services can also be viewed here.

Simultaneous Interpreting and Translation Services for Open City

A Conference Interpreting Case Study – March 2008

Languages: French, Italian, German and Spanish
Location: Berlin, Germany
Sector: Medical
Date: 13th, 14th and 15th March 2008
Aim: To introduce and inform the audiences on a new product

Project Outline: Prestige Network was contacted when a client of Open City approached them with a requirement for conference interpreting.

The medical conference was to be held in Berlin, Germany, required highly skilled linguists who would not only have a good command over the language, but who would also be well-versed with medical technology.

Prestige Network rose to the challenge and supplied the client with highly competent and qualified interpreters in French, Italian, German and Spanish.

The conference was a success and the audience appreciated the fact that their language needs were taken into consideration.

Prestige remarks that “This conference was another feather in our cap, and it was a challenge that we fully rose to. Our main task was to identify the right interpreters for this conference. Needless to say there were also other elements to be taken into consideration such as making arrangements for the interpreters to travel abroad and ensuring that they had enough of a background on the job they were going for. We are happy that we could be of help and we look forward to many more such projects!

Customer Feedback: Our customer commented “The event was a success and the interpreters provided by Prestige were excellent, professional and knew exactly what was required of them”.
