Speaking the language of the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

15 March 2010

The nature of language requirements from the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust can be huge and varied – the Trust is a widespread organisation geographically and the range of languages it needs is substantial.

Prestige Network was pleased to become the preferred provider for the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust when it adopted a concept of Trust-wide provision of language services in 2008. We have now worked with most business units within the Trust and requests for our services have shown a steady increase. More than a year down the line, we are very happy with the way the relationship with the Trust is progressing.

And the customer agrees – “Prestige Network puts a lot of thought into the choice of interpreters and translators and we feel reassured about the level of training and skills of their linguists. Our confidence in Prestige Network is also influenced by other factors – interpreters on our assignments have to deal with complex issues and situations. This is not always an easy task, but is one which Prestige Network’s linguists rise to admirably.”

Mr Dudley said: “Being able to communicate with staff is crucial for everyone using council services: it enables people to say what they want, to understand what is going on around them and feel connected to others. Translation and interpreting services give people access to support.

“The increased demand for language services by public sector organisations and commercial companies alike is symptomatic of the need to meet the country’s continually expanding and diversifying language base.”

Prestige Network caters for language and communications needs in the private and public sector (including the NHS, local government departments, charities, the police and other public organisations). It is continuing to build on its successful delivery to over 1,000 clients and recently announced a 65 per cent growth in 2008/2009. It is run by brother and sister Shawn Khorassani and Shohreh Fleming and her husband Anthony.

Prestige Network sponsores a Challenge Football Match at St Gabriel’s School

16 October 2008

Football Match of the Year!

Prestige Network sponsored a Challenge Football Match at St Gabriel’s School in Newbury on Friday 3rd October. The game, between teachers and parents, was for two 30 minute sessions. Decked in Prestige Network football kit, the team of parents pitched their David Beckham-like skills against the St Gabriel’s School Teachers. This contest of the year was watched by an excited crowd of parents, school children and other members of St Gabriel’s School. Competition was fierce, with neither side wanting to concede to defeat. However, the outcome was inevitable with the final score ending at 2-1 in favour of the parents.

A Winning Goal!

A triumphant and exhilarated Shawn Khorassani commented:
“It is great to get involved with the local school in a sporting
activity that I really love!”
